    How to apply the overseas internships project?

1Eligibility:

  1.  Principal Investigator:Must be a Full-Time Faculty Member at Our University.There may be more than one Co-Principal Investigator.
  2. Each project is required to select a minimum of three students for overseas internships. If the number falls below three, the project coordinator will not be eligible for financial support, including round-trip business-class airfare and living expenses.
  3. The minimum days required in a  internship is 30 days ( Not including round-trip transportation days).
  4. The selection of participating students:
  • Must hold the nationality of the Republic of China and have household registration in Taiwan.
  • Must be enrolled as a student at our university for at least one semester, excluding domestic and international part-time students.
  • Must be a currently enrolled student (not on leave) at our university during the internship period.。
  • Must provide proof of meeting the professional and language proficiency requirements specified by each project coordinator.
  1. Selected students should complete the necessary procedures for studying abroad after the approved subsidy project date, and depart for the internship before the date announced by the school. Failure to go abroad by the specified period will be considered as a waiver.
  2. subsidy period and amount:
  • For each internship program, the priority order of internship institutions may be determined.
  • For each internship project, the actual subsidy amount per person may include the cost of one round-trip international business-class airfare and living expenses, limited to one occurrence. For the New Southbound Horizon program, each student may receive a maximum of two months of living allowance; the subsidy for the project coordinator or co-principal investigator is limited to one person, with living expenses not exceeding 7 days, subject to completion before the end of the project period. [In accordance with budget allocation: not less than 20% of the Ministry of Education's approved subsidy amount]
  • The subsidy amount for each selected student should include both the Ministry of Education's subsidy and the university's matching funds.

 

1Application Process:

  1. The project coordinator is requested to submit the hard copy of the project proposal (signed by the project coordinator and approved by the department) to the International Center of the Research and Development Office before the deadline specified in the school announcement. Additionally, please send the electronic file to8yichern@ntunhs.edu.tw
  2. Content:
  • Basic Information of the Internship Program
  • Project Concept Page (1,500 to 2,000 words abstract, including a brief introduction of the overseas internship institution, anticipated benefits, applying for funds from the Ministry of Education, requesting matching funds from the school, and the expected number of selected students).。
  • Assessment and Guidance of Students during Internship Placement
  • Provision of Benefits for Interning Students"
  • 計Collaboration Period Between Project Coordinator and the Partnering Institution
  • A copy of the Letter of Agreement or Cooperation Contract signed by the overseas internship institution agreeing to accept students sent by our university for internships.
  • Declaration Statement by the Project Coordinator.
  • Effectiveness of Dream-Building Project Implementation Reports by the Project Coordinator in the Past Three Years (Not applicable for first-time applicants).。
    •  Media Coverage Related to the Project's Execution and Achievements
    • Subsequent Collaborative Benefits between Domestic and Foreign Schools or Industries.
    • Potential Impact on Students' Future Development.
    • Changes in the Initially Proposed Number of Interns or Frequency of Collaboration with Institutions in the Project.
    • Differences Between the Initially Reported Internship Institutions in the Project Application and the Actual Internship Institutions.
    • Utilization Principles and Implementation Status of Subsidy Funds for the Past Three Years.
  • Overall Supportive Measures for the Internship Program:
    • Criteria and Procedures for the Selection of Participating Students.
    • Mechanism for Collaborative Internship with Overseas Institutions.
    • Mechanism for Project Coordinators to Arrange and Provide Guidance for Students' Overseas Internships.
