After entering the school, there are several related procedures that you may need to follow:
Orientation → Course Registration → Health Check → Alien Resident Certificate (ARC) → Opening a Bank Account → Tuition and Fee Payment
Submit require documents
Before arriving in Taiwan, students must prepare the following documents:
- Passport.
- Authenticated diploma and transcripts. Authentication should be done by Embassy or Representative Office of the Republic of China (Taiwan) in your country (For those who have not submitted at the time of application).
- English Proficiency Certificate (TOEFL iBT / IELTS).
- Financial Statement (needs to be greater than USD$2500) or scholarship award proficiency document.
- Health certificate for Residence Application
- 2-inch passport photos (both physical and electronic copies are required).
The above documents should be the originals or certified copies for verification purposes when necessary.
Tuition and fee payment
You'll need to make sure your fees are paid by the relevant due date.
- The tuition fee for each person will be notified through messages. Please go to the B103 classroom to collect the payment form for payment.
- Please prepare enough tuition fees. Helen will accompany you to the on-campus bank for payment.(B103 room)

Entrance Health Examination
One of the necessary items for new students to complete the registration process is the Entrance Health Examination. You need to go to B103 classroom to get the health examination form from Helen.
Alien Resident Certificate(ARC)
Alien Resident Certificate (ARC) is like a temporary ID card for international students in Taiwan, which serves as a proof of residency in Taiwan and is therefore very important for every international student.
- Be sure to keep it safe and always pay attention to your residency period.ARC needs to be extended once a year.
- be sure to apply for an ARC through the National Immigration Agency (NIA) online application system within 30 days of the issue date of your residency visa.

Insurance
1.overseas medical insurance: Newly enrolled students should have an international medical and accident insurance policy with a minimum coverage period of 6 months from the date of their entry into Taiwan.
2.International student group insurance: 6 months of medical Insurance, before you could join the NHI. This Insurance cover the outpatient/ emergency treatment in hospitals or clinic NT$1,000 per day. If you could provide proof that you already have overseas medical insurance, or you must join this insurance.For more information about regulation
After seeing a doctor, please be sure to attach the following documents to our office. We will assist you in processing your insurance claim:
(1) Original payment receipt
(2) Original diagnosis document
(3) Copy of the cover of the bank book
(4) Insurance claims application form
(5) Copy of passport
(6) Copy of residence permit
3.National Health Insurance (NHI):
- The National Health Insurance program is a compulsory social insurance program. By law, every Taiwanese citizen with official residency or foreign national living in Taiwan with an Alien Resident Certificate (ARC), regardless of age, gender, or employment status, must enroll in the program
- You can only obtain it after staying in Taiwan for 183 days. If you leave Taiwan during this period, it is limited to one time and you must return to Taiwan within 30 days. The number of days you spend in your home country will delay the date on which you are eligible for the NHI. More info about NHI ,please refer to the NHI website:https://www.nhi.gov.tw/English/
- NHI fees: $826/ per month (according to the fee criteria set by NHI),the payment is required to complete by cash to B103 before 20th on that month.
- If there are any changes to your health insurance due to circumstances such as taking a leave of absence, dropping out, graduating, transferring to another school, or becoming employed, please go to B103 or leave a message to inform the NHI staff in charge of foreign students.
- If you need a replacement or renewal of the NHI IC card due to changes in personal information, damage, loss, or replacement of photos, please go to the post office or the National Health Insurance Bureau to apply and pay the handling fee of NTD 200.
